Magnum synthetic urine was a very popular brand of fake pee, originally sold for fetish use, but then hijacked to try and pass drug tests. In this Magnum synthetic urine review, we are going to talk about its history, its pedigree, and whether it’s still safe to use.
You’ll learn exactly what’s in Magnum synthetic urine, and what the instructions for use are. You’ll also learn how Magnum synthetic urine has failed people, and what sort of rate of success you can expect.
Finally, we will compare it to 4 other leading brands of fake urine so that you can make the perfect buying decision for the type of drug test you are facing.
What Is Magnum Synthetic Urine & What’s In It?
Magnum synthetic urine has always been popular, but I’ve never been convinced that it’s that good at passing drug tests. You’ll see a lot of people saying Magnum passed, but also a lot of people online saying it failed, and that’s gone on for years.
When you buy Magnum, this is what you get in the box:
- A container of premixed urine
- Vial of uric acid
- Set of instructions
- One heatpad
So it’s pretty basic stuff in the Magnum box. But obviously, it’s the quality of the urine and the quality of the heatpad that matters.
Does Magnum Synthetic Urine Have Uric Acid?
When it comes to passing a drug test using synthetic urine, you need it to have as many of the characteristics of human urine as possible, because there is less chance of it being detected as a fake sample.
Magnum has the following characteristics:
- Magnum fake urine contains urea
- It has a vial of uric acid with it but not premixed in it
- Magnum contains creatinine (a waste product of creatine)
- It looks like real urine
But when you compare that to Sub Solution, the market leader, which contains 14 chemicals found in human urine, looks, smells, even froths like the real thing, is perfectly balanced for pH and specific gravity, and has the uric acid mixed into the right quantity, and you can see that it really is basic by comparison.
The instructions for using Magnum fake urine are pretty straightforward:
- The first thing you’ll need to do is add the uric acid. This should be done until just before you need to use it because once it’s in the mix and open to the air it will start to spoil within about five hours.
- You’ll then need to heat the sample. If you haven’t got a heat source then you’ll have to rely on a heatpad. Activate it and attach it, and within about 30 minutes it should be within the right temperature range as long as a heatpad is emitting heat at the right level and consistently. Alternatively, if it’s cold you could use a radiator, or hot water, to get the temperature sample up.
- The best way though is to use a microwave. Short bursts for a second until you get a reading on the temperature strip, you want it to read as close to 100°F as possible without going over.
- Then it’s simply a case of concealing the sample and heatpad on you, preferably close to your skin in your crotch area where it will not be detected, put on some baggy jogging bottoms, and go and submit your sample.
How Many People Has Magnum Synthetic Urine Failed?
So how many people has Magnum synthetic urine failed? Unfortunately, there’s no way of knowing that, just like there’s no way of knowing how many people have passed a drug test using Magnum.
However, times have changed. 10 years ago when we didn’t have modern digital drug testing, then sure, Magnum might have passed some of the basic urinalysis tests out there.
But nowadays, there’s very little chance in hell that Magnum is going to pass detailed digital lab testing.
The biggest concern is that it didn’t even contain uric acid until a few years back. Then they realized that it was failing 100% of the time, so they included a vial of uric acid to mix in. You don’t know what the concentration should be, and it’s a really dodgy way of doing that compared to the competitors who mix it in, in a scientifically balanced fashion.
Plus, there’s even a rumor it contains biocide. Biocide is an artificial preservative that is in a lot of the older and poorer quality brands of fake urine. It’s rumored that big testing labs like LabCorp have realized this, so now they routinely test for the presence of biocide during validity checks because it rules out 90% of the fake samples without wasting any more time.
So for me, the conclusion of this Magnum synthetic urine review has to avoid it like the plague.
The formula isn’t complex, you having to add the uric acid is a ludicrous compromise job, and this rumor about biocide makes it a brand to steer completely clear of. That’s why so few shops sell it anymore, and why trying to find Magnum synthetic urine for sale is getting tougher.
Safer Alternatives To Magnum
So after concluding that Magnum fake urine is rubbish, let’s look at alternatives that definitely do have the ingredients and pedigree to pass a drug test.
These are the top four brands of fake urine out there right now:
- Quick Luck
- Sub Solution
- Quick Fix
- Monkey Whizz
Sub Solution is the most popular brand, and it will pass any level of drug test. It also uses heat activator powder rather than a heatpad, meaning you don’t need access to any heat source at all, you just tap in the heat activator powder a few minutes before you go in to submit your sample.
But Quick Luck is the number one choice for me because it’s Sub Solution on steroids, but it is more expensive. Made by the same company, it’s premixed rather than a powder, slightly more updated and complex in the formula, plus it contains both heatpads and heat activator powder to give you complete control over the temperature.
If neither of those is available, then Quick Fix is my third choice. Far more basic, but it does contain enough ingredients in perfect balance to pass a basic drug test (something like a cheap five-panel pre-employment test).
Monkey Whizz is pretty similar to Quick Fix, and there’s really not much to choose between them, but Quick Fix is updated frequently and does have a consistent track record of passing drug tests.
So there you go, only if you are desperate, if there’s literally nothing else available from the four brands of fake urine above near you, or available to buy online before the day of your test, should you go anywhere near Magnum synthetic urine.
